BHALUKHOP – Kalimpongcalling

Overview

Bhalukhop, meaning "Bear's Den" in the local dialect, is a dense forest area in the Kalimpong hills. The name hints at its wild character — the forests here are home to a variety of wildlife including leopards, barking deer, and numerous bird species.

Nature Walks

The forest trails around Bhalukhop are excellent for nature walks and birdwatching. The area is particularly rich in orchids and ferns, and the forest floor is carpeted with moss and wildflowers during the monsoon season. A small stream runs through the forest, adding to its serene atmosphere.
