Overview
Kolakham is a small village on the edge of the Neora Valley National Park, one of the richest biodiversity hotspots in the eastern Himalayas. The village is a gateway to the park and an excellent base for wildlife spotting and birdwatching.

The forests around Kolakham are home to the elusive Red Panda, clouded leopard, Himalayan black bear, and over 300 species of birds. The village is particularly famous for birdwatching, with rare species like the Satyr Tragopan and Blood Pheasant found in the surrounding forests.
