Kalimpong Sightseeing
Chitra Bhanu
Built in 1943 by Rabindranath Tagore’s son Rathindranath, this house is a symbol of senior Tagore’s deep love for Kalimpong. In 1962, the property was handed over to the Government of West Bengal and later declared as a heritage building. It now serves as a museum preserving the legacy of the Tagore family.
St Teresa's Church
This is the largest Roman Catholic Church in Kalimpong and it is run by the Catholic Fathers. Built by local craftsmen, the religious personalities in the paintings that decorate the walls have a distinct Tibetan/Chinese touch.
Zang Dhok Palri Phodang Monastery
A Tibetan Buddhist monastery of the Nyingma school, founded by Dudjom Rinpoche in 1957. The monastery preserves rare Buddhist scriptures, including a complete set of the Kangyur. It is a significant spiritual center offering panoramic views of Kalimpong town.
Tharpa Choeling Monastery
Located 1.5 km from Kalimpong on Hill Top Road, this monastery was established in 1912. It belongs to the Gelugpa (Yellow Hat) sect of Buddhism and offers a serene environment along with beautiful views of the surrounding hills.
